Alleghany/Roanoke City Health Districts

The Environmental Health Division of the Alleghany / Roanoke City Health Districts provides public health services to a population of over 265,000 citizens in seven localities in Southwest Virginia.  The Districts cover over 1,700 square miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway in Roanoke County, across Roanoke City, the “Star City of the South”, to the West Virginia State boarder at Alleghany and Craig Counties.
 
The Districts consist of one Environmental Health Manager Senior, two Environmental Health Supervisors, ten Environmental Health Specialist Seniors, one Exterminator, and seven Office Support Specialists, housed in four offices:
  • Roanoke City (Includes Roanoke County and the City of Salem)
  • Botetourt County
  • Alleghany/Covington
  • Craig County
