Routine inspection: Hair Services, Pedicure, Manicure, Waxing and Eyebrow Tinting
Hair services
- Handsink equipped with hot and cold running water and liquid soap. Single use cloth towels available.
- Used and clean towels observed to be stored separately. Towels are hot laundered onsite.
- Lysol used to disinfect counters and chairs
- Barbicide available and changed daily. Combs observed to be submerged in barbicide during time of inspection
- Clippericide available onsite
Waxing/ Nail Services (Pedicure and Manicure)/ Eyebrow Tinting
- Handsink equipped with hot and running water, liquid soap and single use cloth towels
- Bed towel and sheet are hot laundered after each client use. Diluted Pre-Empt CS20 used to disinfect the bed, chairs, and counter surfaces.
- Pre-Empt CS20 available (expires Feb 17, 2022). Staff indicated changed every 2 days. Nail clippers and drill bits observed to be submerged in CS20 during time of inspection. Test strip indicated minimum concentration of CS20 reached as color change occurred within 35 seconds.
- Single use gloves, sanding bands, wax strips, wax applicators, cotton swabs, nail filers and paraffix wax bags available. Paraffin wax observed to be free of hair
- Refectocil used for eyebrow tint
- Foot bath spray with Pre-Empt CS20 disinfectant for a minimum of 10 minutes after client use
- 99% alcohol available
- Nail, waxing, and eyebrow tinting services are by appointment
- Pre-Empt CS20 available (expires Feb 17, 2023). Drill bits and nail clippers observed to be observed in CS20 during time of inspection. Staff indicated that logbook for changing CS20 available and changed every 2 days. Test strip for detecting concentration of accelerated hydrogen peroxide in CS20 changed color and met the minimum requirement within 35 seconds.

- Single use gloves, sanding bands, nail filers, cotton swabs, wax applicators, wax strips, and paraffin wax bags available. Paraffin wax observed to be clear of hair.
- Foot bath sprayed with CS20 disinfectant and left on for a minimum of 10 minutes after each client use.
- Diluted CS20 used to disinfect the chair and counter surfaces
- Written copy of infection control plan available onsite
- Premises observed to be in sanitary condition
- Washroom in sanitary condition with hot and cold running water, liquid soap and single use hand towels
- Two compartment sink available for equipment/ tool cleaning |
