Observation: Light covers in the drying room are missing.
Corrective Action(s): Install light shield/cover on the lights in the drying room where dried vegetables and fruits are stored prior to packaging.

Observation: Rag towels used on the shelves where knives are stored.
Corrective Action(s): Do not use towels on the shelves to store clean knives. Instead use a material that can be easily cleaned and sanitized as surface for storing clean equipment.

Observation: Exposed rat poison was found in the packaging area near the bay door.
Corrective Action(s): Remove exposed rat poison. Use appropriate rat traps for interior. Consult with your pest control company.

Comments

Hand wash stations equipped with liquid soap and paper towels.
-Garbage can had lids and required to be handle when disposing of used paper towels.
-Provide either an open garbage bin or a foot controlled garbage can to prevent re-contamination of hands.
-Prepared bleach solution measured >200 ppm (concentration can be reduced to 100 ppm).
Walk-in cooler was at 0-1 deg C.
Walk-in freezer was at -22 deg C.
No signs of pests noted at time of inspection. Pest control monitoring in place.
All dried products in the packaging room were stored in pest proof container with lids.
General sanitation was satisfactory at time of inspection.
Side door of the processing room requires re-sealing on the bottom of the door as well as the side.
Red barn - pea/bean storage and finish product temporary storage for pick up was in sanitary condition.
Metal storage bins used for storing finishes product were clean and no signs of pests noted.
Note: Washroom expansion - waiting approval from other agencies (ALC, City of Abbotsford).
