Division of Environmental Health

Welcome to the Erie County Department of Health's Inspection website.

The mission of the Erie County Department of Health is to promote and protect the health, safety, and well-being of Erie County residents through active prevention, education, enforcement and advocacy. The Division of Environmental Health is charged with a wide variety of public health functions related to that mission including enforcement of State and Local laws related to food service establishments, public swimming pools and beaches, campgrounds, children's camps, mobile home parks, hotels and motels, community and non-community water systems, tattoo artists and shops, rooming houses and other facilities.

Sanitarians and Engineers of the Division conduct unannounced inspections of these facilities on a routine basis established by Division protocol. Inspections are also conducted in response to complaints received.
