Inspection Information

Facility Type: Pool

[?] Inspection Type: Follow-up

Inspection Date: 07-October-2020

The following violation(s) have been corrected since the last inspection.
3701-31-04 (B)(6)(h)/Required meters and gauges maintained/functional
Required meters and gauges were not maintained or were not functional while the pool is in operation. The flow meter appeared "stuck" in one position, possibly by mineral deposits. In order to allow the frequent check of water flow, it is necessary that the flow meter be operational. Repair/clean this flow meter. .
Maintain all meters and gauges in a properly functioning manner at all times while the pool is in operation.
3701-31-04 (C)(2)/pH is within 7.2 to 7.8
The pH was outside the range of 7.2 to 7.8. The pH was measured at 7.0. This is too low. In order to ensure proper pool chemistry, the pH must be maintained between 7.2 and 7.8. Correct the pH level.
Treat the pool water so that the pH is within the acceptable range.
3701-31-04 (C)(3)/Total alkalinity is at or greater than 60 ppm
Total alkalinity was less than 60 ppm. The alkalinity was measured at 20ppm. This is too low. In order to ensure adequate buffering capacity of pool water, it is necessary that the alkalinity be maintained at 60 ppm or greater. Adjust the alkalinity.
Raise the total alkalinity to at least 60 ppm.
Comments
Discussed use of pool chemicals with the PIC - always read the chemical container's label and follow the directions to calculate how much chemical to add according to the desired endpoint and the volume of the pool.
