3701-31-04 (B)(6)(h) / Required meters and gauges maintained/functional
Required meters and gauges were not maintained or were not functional while the pool is in operation. The chlorine feeder appears to not work well and appears to allow a larger dosage of chlorine than wanted when set to the lowest setting. In order to provide good control over chlorine dosing, it is necessary that the chemical feeder work well and have a working adjuster. Check and repair or replace this feeder. Discussed with the PIC, who indicated that the feeder would be checked as soon possible.
Maintain all meters and gauges in a properly functioning manner at all times while the pool is in operation.
3701-31-04 (B)(6)(o) / Ladders/stairs/steps are in good repair/slip resistent
Ladders/stairs/steps were not in good repair or were not slip resistant. One of the ladders appears not to fit the pool well. The handles are secure, but the legs that do not extend to the side of the pool. In order to ensure easy and secure exit and access to the pool with no entanglement or other hazards, it is necessary that the pool ladders fit well. Check and repair or replace this ladder.
Repair or replace the ladders/stairs/steps so that they are slip resistant and in good repair.
3701-31-04 (C)(3) / Total alkalinity is at or greater than 60 ppm
Total alkalinity was less than 60 ppm. Observed the alkalinity to be 40 ppm. In order to provide sufficient buffering for the pool water, it is necessary that the alkalinity be maintained at 60 ppm or more. Adjust the alkalinity to be 60 ppm or greater. Discussed with the PIC, who indicated that the alkalinity would be adjusted as soon as possible.
Raise the total alkalinity to at least 60 ppm.
3701-31-04 (E)(3)(c) / Location of emergency telephone posted when the phone is not visible.
Sign indicating the location of the emergency device (telephone) was not sufficiently visible in the pool area. Observed the sign for the pool emergency telephone to be far enough away from the telephone that is was not clear where the telephone was located. In order to ensure easy access to emergency services, it is necessary that the emergency phone be well-marked and have a sign that clearly shows its location. Move the sign nearer to the telephone. Discussed with the PIC, who indicated that the sign would be moved as soon as possible.
Ensure that a sign informing patrons of the location of the emergency device is always visible in the pool area.
