3701-31-04 (B)(3) / Staff is trained and knowledgeable
Observed that the staff was not trained or knowledgeable in pool operations.
In order to reduce the risk of health and safety hazards, ensure that the staff is properly trained. Train staff in pool operations, operation of equipment, chemical storage, use and handling and appropriate emergency procedures.
3701-31-04 (B)(6)(t) / Equipment/chemical/storage areas are free of hazards/accessible only to authorized personnel.
Critical Observed that the equipment/chemical storage room was unlocked.
In order to reduce the risk of health and safety hazards, ensure that door to the equipment/chemical storage room is always locked. These storage areas must be kept inaccessible to everyone but authorized personnel. Secure the areas.
3701-31-04 (C)(2) / pH is within 7.2 to 7.8
Observed a pH of >8.0.
In order the risk of health hazards, ensure that the pH remains between 7.2-7.8. Treat the pool water so that the pH is within the acceptable range.
3701-31-04 (E)(2)(e) / Working emergency telephone/call box provided.
Repeat Observed that the emergency telephone was not working.
In order to reduce the risk of health and safety hazards, ensure that the phone is working properly. Repair/replace the emergency device.
3701-31-04(D)(6)(a)(2) / Pool free chlorine disinfectant residual shall be above 1 ppm.
Critical Observed 0.0 free chlorine in the pool.
In order to reduce the risk of health hazards, ensure that there is atleast 1.0 ppm free chlorine. Do not operate the pool until the chlorine disinfectant residual is at 1 ppm or above.
