3701-31-04 ( D )(6)(a) / ORP reading shall be 650 millivolts or greater.
The ORP reading was at 254 mv
In order to reduce the risk of health and safety hazards, ensure that the ORP reading is at 650 mv or greater. Have the ACC unit inspected to determined why the ORP is low.
3701-31-04 (B)(3) / Staff is trained and knowledgeable
Observed that the staff was not trained with the new pool disinfection system.
In order to reduce the risk of health and safety hazards, ensure that the staff is properly trained by the pool company. Train staff in pool operations, operation of equipment, chemical storage, use and handling and appropriate emergency procedures.
3701-31-04 (C)(2) / pH is within 7.2 to 7.8
Observed that the pH was greater than 8.0.
In order to reduce the risk of health and safety hazards, ensure that the pH is between 7.2-7.8. Treat the pool water so that the pH is within the acceptable range.
3701-31-04 (D)(7)(c) / Audible/visual alarm shall activate when unit is malfunctioning or when pH or ORP levels are not acceptable.
Critical Observed that the ACC unit was not activating an audible or visual alarm when unit malfunctioned or when pH or ORP levels were not acceptable.
In order to reduce the risk of contamination, ensure that the ACC working properly. Have the ACC unit serviced or replaced so that the audible or visual alarm is activated when necessary.
3701-31-04(D)(6)(a)(2) / Pool free chlorine disinfectant residual shall be above 1 ppm.
Critical Observed that the pool free chlorine was 0.0 ppm.
In order to reduce the risk of contamination, ensure that the free chlorine level is at least 1 ppm. Treat the pool to allow for 1 ppm of free chlorine. Do not operate the pool until the chlorine disinfectant residual is at 1 ppm or above.
