Critical Observed an alarm on the Automatic Chemical Controller (ACC). In order to ensure proper chemical composition of the facility’s pool over time, ACC must be operational when the pool is open. Discussed with person in charge, who closed the pool.

3701-31-04 (B)(4) / The licensee /authorized representative is keeping records
Observed that records of only some of the chemical results were maintained. In order to ensure proper chemical composition of the facility’s pool over time, chemical pool records must be maintained regularly. Discussed with person in charge, and drew up examples of record keeping during the inspection.

3701-31-04 (E)(2)(a)(ii) / A USCG Type IV personal flotation device with 30 -60 foot throw line provided
Observed the personal flotation device with a throw line greater than 60ft. In order to reduce the risk of physical harm to patrons of the pool, ensure that the personal flotation device has a 30-60ft throw line. Discussed with person in charge.

3701-31-04 (E)(2)(d) / First aid kit provided
Corrected During Inspection Observed a first aid kit with no materials inside. In order to reduce the risk of the spread of illness, ensure that first aid kits are supplied with the proper materials. Discussed with person in charge, who added gloves and absorbent first aid materials.

3701-31-04(D)(6)(a)(2) / Pool free chlorine disinfectant residual shall be above 1 ppm.
Critical Observed the pool free chlorine disinfectant residual to be at 0ppm. In order for proper disinfection to take place, ensure that the pool free chlorine disinfectant residual is maintained above 1ppm. Discussed with person in charge.
