Critical Observed by-pass of main drains of spa. Water suction is being accomplished through a PVC pipe without proper safety features.
Suction outlet must be properly installed,securely fastened and in compliance with requirements within ANSI/ASME A112.19.8-2007. Before spa is reopened.
3701-31-04 (B)(4)(a)(iii) / pH is tested daily at pool side at required intervals for pools/automatic chemical controllers/special features
Chlorine, and pH was not tested daily at pool side and/or at required intervals for pools/automatic chemical controllers/special features. Observed pool record that lacked testing at proper intervals.
Chlorine and pH must be tested prior to bathers entering the water and every 4 hours the pool is open for use. If ACC is in use pH must be tested every 12 hours while the pool is in use. For spraygrounds and spray features, the pH must be tested at 1 special feature every 6 hours the sprayground or spray feature is in use. Went over proper testing intervals with owner.
3701-31-04 (B)(6)(c)(i) / Backflow prevention devices shall be maintained.
Backflow prevention devices were not maintained to function properly. Observed lack of back flow preventer on water supply hose to spa.
Backflow devices must be maintained so to prevent contaimination of the water supply. Have the backflow prevention device evaluated or replaced so that backflow is prevented. Owner to install back flow preventer at hose connection.
3701-31-04 (C)(3) / Total alkalinity is at or greater than 60 ppm
Total alkalinity was less than 60 ppm. Tested alkalinity at 30 ppm.
Alaklinity shall be maintained over 60 ppm. Raise the total alkalinity to at least 60 ppm.
3701-31-04 (C)(7) / Spa water temperature is less than 104 degrees Fahrenheit/ thermometer is provided
Observed spa temperature at 105.1
Spa water temperature shall not exceed 104 degF.PIC to turn down spa heater till water temperuture below 104 degrees Fahrenheit
