Comments
Investigated a complaint that came from the Mayor's Action Center Request. Complaint #20190719-76307. Request stated that customer had received expired or rotten food being sold at Dave's. Spoke with the manager Walter White and he stated that he had received an email from the owner David Saltzman in reference to the complaint. The complaint that he received was in reference to beer products the customer had purchased that she stated tasted bad. The owner, Mr. Saltzman, is taking the complaint very seriously and has advised his manager's to do a full walk through of the store and discard any expired products and any products that will expire within the next three months. They will also be re-emphasizing the importance of FIFO (First in first out) to staff so that they are properly stocking items. Completed brief walk through of deli area to see how things were running since the previous inspection and the products in the deli were being fully rotated and discarded at the time of walk through. During most recent inspection on July 2, 2019 there were no rotten food products observed. There were some items that were discovered out of temperature in the deli area but were immediately discarded at the time of the inspection.
