[?] A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.

3717-1-03.2(U) / Food display - preventing contamination by consumers.
Critical Corrected During Inspection Food display not properly protected from contamination by consumers. Apples and pears were put out for the children to have for lunch. Observed the children picking up fruit with their bare hands and then put it back. The fruit was not wrapped and not protected from contamination. Because ready to eat food was handled with the bare hands the fruit had to be discarded. The person in charge stated that she was told not to wrap it because bacteria will grow. There is no evidence to this fact from the FDA.

3717-1-02.4(C)(17) / PIC: duties - ensure the facility has written procedures for vomiting and diarrheal events.
No written procedures for vomiting or diarrheal events. There is a procedure for the staff to clean up the vomit, but they call the custodian instead. In checking with the janitor, the disinfectant that is used is Lemon Disinfectant by Wepak, which did not say it was effective against Norovirus. Decide which policy they are going to use and get a disinfectant that is effective against Norovirus.

The person in charge stated that they were told that the fresh whole fruit does not need to wrapped because bacteria can grow. There is no FDA paper on this. The fresh fruit must be protected. Need to find a way to do that.
