Complaint on 07-Jan-2019 :

A complaint inspection was conducted in response to an anonymous call about an unapproved product being sold at the Co-op.
The product described in the complaint was elderberry syrup from Mueller Honey Bee.

At time of inspection, the PIC was unable to verify if the product was coming from an approved source.
The product listed two addresses on the label:
1. Mueller Honey Bee, 5867 Manchester Rd, New Franklin, OH 44319
2. Produced at 1261 W Maple St, Hartville, OH 44632

The PIC voluntarily removed the product from sale by placing it into the walk-in cooler for temporary storage until confirmation could be made if it was coming from an approved source. Ten 12 ounce bottles of the product were removed.

On 1/11/19, the Kent Health Department was able to confirm with the Ohio Department of Agriculture that the new address (1261 W Maple St, Hartville, OH) was permitted to produce the product as of 1/10/19.

On 1/11/19, the Kent Health Department made a telephone call to the PIC to explain that properly labeled product from the new location (1261 W Maple St, Hartville, OH) was permitted for sale going forward.
