3717-1-03.2(C) / Packaged and unpackaged food - preventing contamination by separation, packaging, and segregation
Critical Corrected During Inspection Observed food (beverages stored under raw eggs) that was not properly protected from contamination by separation, packaging, and segregation at the time of inspection.
To prevent contamination, food shall be protected from cross contamination by separating raw animal foods during storage, preparation, holding, and display from ready-to-eat foods. Eggs were moved to a location where they could not contaminate beverages.

3717-1-04.1(KK) / Food equipment - certification and classification.
Observed equipment (table top fryer, waffle makers, griddles, toasters, and other equipment) in the facility at the time of inspection that was not approved by a recognized testing agency.
To prevent contamination, food equipment that is acceptable for use in a FSO shall be approved by a recognized food equipment testing agency. Remove all unapproved equipment from the facility and contact the City of Kent Health Department before adding any new equipment to this facility.
3717-1-04.4(A)(3) / Equipment - cutting or piercing parts of can opener not maintained.
Observed the can opener blade was dull at the time of inspection.
Cutting or piercing parts of can openers shall be kept sharp to minimize the creation of metal fragments that can contaminate food when the container is opened. Discard the can opener blade and replace it with one that is sharp.
3717-1-04.5(A)(3) / Cleanliness of nonfood-contact surfaces of equipment.
Observed an accumulation of residue on the interior surfaces of the microwave at the time of inspection.
To prevent contamination, nonfood-contact surfaces of equipment shall be kept clean. Clean this equipment, and provide regular cleaning so that all equipment is maintained clean to sight and touch.
3717-1-06.4(J) / Using dressing rooms and lockers.
Observed employee personal items stored in the kitchen at the time of inspection..
To prevent contamination, lockers or other suitable facilities shall be designated and used for the orderly storage of employee possessions.

Operation was thawing frozen milk under refrigeration in an approved manner at the time of inspection, and no temperature problems were documented.
Operation was using approved containers for the storage of food.
A designated area that is clearly labelled is recommended for storing employee food items. An easily cleanable container may be used to keep these foods separate from food items that may be served.
Shelf liners and foil hinder proper cleaning and should not be used.
