[?] Inspection Type: Consultation

Inspection Date: 14-March-2019

Comments
This consultation was in response to a request from the FSO owner and plumbing company regarding the install of a new curb mop/service sink.
Due the limited space on the first floor of the FSO, the owner would like to installed an exterior curbed drain for proper disposal of mop waste water. Observed a sanitary clean out access and hot and cold water supply is available which is water source the FSO currently uses to fill the mop buckets. The plumber would like remove some concrete and tie into the sanitary clean out.

Based on the limited space and the only location mop water can be properly disposed is in the public rest-rooms (management requires the restroom to be cleaned and sanitized after each dump), it has been determine an exterior tie in to the sanitary line to the main is the best solution to the FSO not having a service sink. Plumber plans to install a concrete mop basin an seal junctures to be smooth. Proper back flow prevention devices shall be installed on both the hot and cold water fixtures. Basin shall not extend out past the over hang/canopy to limit the amount of rain water entering the sanitary sewer. With the FSO being closed during the winter months, ensure proper winterization of the drain is completed. A drain that can be plugged is recommend.
