| Complaint called in 2/19 and stated they got cole slaw from the facility on 2/11 and found a piece of plastic inside the cole slaw while eating. Talked to PIC that stated they receive the cole slaw from Mclane already shredded. Observed cole slaw stored in the walk in cooler in boxes as well as already prep in containers. Cole slaw are stored in plastic bags inside the boxes. PIC stated they prep the cole slaw by opening the bags, mixing it with the sauce and putting it in containers for sale. The probable source of physical contamination could have been from the plastic bag of the cole slaw or the plastic lid of the container. Talked to PIC about precautions to take when opening plastic bags of cole slaw as well as during preparation and storage. No violation regarding the complaint was observed at the time of inspection. |
