We received a confirmed case of Salmonellosis and complainant reported eating "the classic" at this facility. The date of purchase of the food item was unsure and the illness onset date was 5/30.
Salmonellosis is usually associated with eggs, poultry, meat, unpasteurized milk or juice, cheese, contaminated raw fruits or vegetables.
We talked to the PIC about the complaint. PIC stated "the classic" is made with roast beef. Facility get their roast beef from CTI foods. Facility had verifiable employee health policy at the time of inspection and PIC stated no employee reported being sick. PIC stated the roast beef is cooked to at least 150F. Roast beef comes frozen and is thawed under refrigeration. Facility does not cool or reheat food items. PIC stated employees are required to wash hands frequently and as needed, no bare hands contact are alowed with ready to eat food and gloves and/or tongs are used for RTE food.
