Comments
Inspection is due to a complaint from the USDA about a foreign object in the meat. At the time of inspection we could not locate a specific cause for this kind of contamination. Locations observed were the meat cooler, meat freezer, meat holding cooler, and meat cutting room. Within the meat cutting room we inspected all the meat equipment which includes the meat grinder, the meat cutter, and the meat wrapping machine. Also in the meat cutting room the cleaning and sanitizing area was inspected. Store Director Katie Downing was with us during the inspection. She lead us through the process of where the meat comes from, where the pre-ground meat is held, where the meat is taken to be opened, where it is processed and ground, where packaged, and where taken after packaging. We inspected inside the equipment as well as the floors, walls, ceiling, and general area around the equipment. We did not observe any points of physical contamination during this process where any yellow contaminant could have been introduced.
