3701-31-04 (B)(3) / Staff is trained and knowledgeable
Staff was not trained or knowledgeable in pool operations. No staff on sight with knowledge of the pool or pool testing.
No staff present with pool knowledge during the inspection. The facility maintains one employee for pool maintenance; however, when this employee is not present, the pool is not tested. The facility shall train more staff on pool testing to ensure the pool is tested daily, and every 4 hours the pool is open when the ACC is non-functioning. Train staff in pool operations, operation of equipment, chemical storage, use and handling and appropriate emergency procedures.

Test the disinfection residual every day before bathers enter the water. Disinfection residual must then be tested every 4 hours when an ACC is not in use. If an ACC is in use the disinfectant residual must be tested every 12 hours while the pool is in use. For spraygrounds and spray features, the disinfectant residual must be tested at 1 spray feature every 6 hours the sprayground or spray feature is in use.
