Cooking equipment or pan surfaces are dirty. OBSERVED GREASE IN TWO FRYERS INSIDE OF THE KITCHEN AREA.
To prevent contamination, the food-contact surfaces of cooking equipment and pans shall be kept clean. DRAIN BOTH FRYERS AND THOROUGHLY CLEAN THEM TO PREVENT POSSIBLE PEST HARBORAGE.

Non-food contact surfaces of equipment are dirty. OBSERVED PEST FECAL MATTER ON THE COUNTER UNDERNEATH THE GRILL IN THE KITCHEN AREA.
Nonfood-contact surfaces of equipment shall be kept clean. THOROUGHLY CLEAN THE COUNTER AND THE GRILL.

THERE WAS A COMPLAINT RECEIVED ON 05-25-2017 FOR THIS FACILITY: THE NATURE: RISK LEVEL I OPERATION PERFORMING RISK LEVEL III ACTIVITIES (COOKING AND SANDWICH PREPARATION). FINDINGS: I DID NOT OBSERVE ANY COOKING OR FOOD PREPARATION IN THE KITCHEN LOCATED NEXT DOOR TO THE RETAIL STORE SECTION OF THIS PROPERTY. I OBSERVED TWO FRYERS FILLED WITH GREASE AND PEST FECAL MATTER LOCATED UNDERNEATH THE GRILL. THE GRILL IS LOCATED NEXT TO THE FRYERS. THE OWNER STATES THAT THE KITCHEN HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. I INFORMED HIM THAT IF HE WISHES TO OPEN HIS KITCHEN, HE MUST SUBMIT PLANS TO THE CLEVELAND DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH. UPON APPROVAL OF BOTH THE PLANS AND AN INSPECTION OF THE OPERATION AS WELL AS FULL PAYMENT OF THE UPGRADED LICENSE (TO A RISK LEVEL III OR IV DEPENDING UPON THE COOKING PRACTICES AND MENU), THEN COOKING IS PERMITTED FROM THE KITCHEN AT THIS FACILITY. MEANWHILE, THIS FACILITY IS NOT PERMITTED TO PREPARE OR COOK ANY FOOD ITEM FOR THE PUBLIC. IF COOKING OR PREPARATION OF FOOD FOR THE PUBLIC IS DISCOVERED, ENFORCEMENT ACTION MAY RESULT.
