| When testing the emergency phone there was so much static that the 911 operator was incredibly difficult to hear. Although functional, the phone should be replaced so that in the event of an emergency, the 911 dispatcher can be heard clearly. Additionally, in order to dial 911, the caller must first press the 8 key in order to dial out. There is no indication that the 8 key needs to be pressed to dial an outside number, and in the event of an emergency the person calling 911 will not know they need to press 8 first, and will be unable to call emergency services. A sign or placard should be affixed to the phone, call box, or wall near the phone to clearly instruct any person using the pool that they need to dial 8 prior to calling 911. |
