This page provides Ohioans information regarding food and product recalls in different program areas. Recall information may include the following programmatic areas: body art; food; and public swimming pools. However, most information on this page will pertain to "class I" food product recall announcements.

"Class I" food product recall announcements are defined by United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a situation in which use of or exposure to a volatile product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death. The information regarding these announcements is provided by the FDA and/or the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in cooperation with the company the recall affects. Additional product recalls may be provided by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

On occasion, the FDA has issued recalls on inks used for tattooing and in permanent cosmetics. When those recalls are issued that information will be listed here.

The CPSC has issued products recalls in the swimming pool industry. The majority of these recalls have been on main drain covers. When a product is recalled that information will also be found on this page.
